Cutie Ann,
Happy Birthday Little Sis!! I couldn’t help posting these adorable pictures…to prove to the world that you have always been a woman of natural style and beauty!!
Being your big sister has been one of the biggest blessings of my life! The majority of older sisters set the example and lead the way for their siblings. In our family we have a little role reversal going on! You are all the things I wish I could be! You are such a tremendous example to me!
I love the nurturing, supportive, fiercely loyal, listening mother you are!
I love the understanding, empathetic, caring, validating friend you are.
I love the beautiful, fun, spunky, loving, spontaneous wife you are.
I love the healthy, disciplined, hard-working, athletic body you inhabit.
I love the confident, talented, crafty, on-the-ball, successful, organized, beautifying, woman you are
I love that most all the decorations in my home everyday and especially at Christmas have come from your love and hard work!
And I love the virtuous, in tune, righteous, hard-working, do any calling like a sprint-marathon, prayerful disciple you are!
We always tease you about being the “Golden Child”…Now it all makes sense!
Last time I checked, you were not Jewish, but there is a Jewish dictum to always try to be the first to greet everyone you meet. Yitta Halberstam and Judith Leventhal described you perfectly when they wrote,
"When you greet someone heartily, with a warm smile and a friendly salutation, all is well in that person's world--if only for a fleeting moment. The individual feels a sense of validation, that his existence in the comsos has been acknowledged and recorded, that he is known." That is you. You do that for me every day when you answer the phone, or when I have been lucky enough to see you and get a big hug. You are such a positive, bright spot in this world!! You bless so many lives daily as you answer the phone, see someone in the store or pass them in the post office or at school. You are an angel! I love you and I am so proud of you!I am going to try to be more like you!!

Happy, Happy 40th!

Your adoring sister

Well, what can I say to my BFF on her 40th!

Ala David Letterman (ok, we saw Jay Leno together, but he doesn't have a top 10 list), this is

"TOP 10 THINGS THAT MAKE ME LOVE TRACI HAYCOCK"

Number ten: Quilts, blankets, blankets, quilts, Halloween, Fall, mountains of minky fluff, I'm always warm because of her!

Number nine: That adorable wiggle when she walks! Jason is a lucky man! That's why he's called Lucky.

Number eight: While we may not have arrived on a donkey, you took me in at Christmas when I was with child and gave us a place to sleep and sheltered us in our time of need. When we had no place else to go. Truly.

Number seven: That I will be forever adorned in pieces of custom silver jewelery just for me.

Number six: Recipes, cute ideas, decorating, wrapped things, granny's licorice, etc. etc., etc. and that ALMOST Coach bonding experience.

Number five: For being the most dedicated and amazing mother I have ever known.

Number four: For being incredibly intelligent, smart and gorgeous all wrapped into one. I normally wouldn't like that type of person, but I've made an exception. Oh and her math skills. Can't forget that.

Number three: For being my go-to-girl with all my spiritual questions and always helping me see it in a different way.

Number two: For trying out a polygamist lifestyle together for almost a month. Helped me realize, a sister wife would be better than the $?!*# I lived with.

And the number one reason I love Traci Haycock: Bus shelter....

Lori Shackleton

There are so many great things to say about you Traci....the number of times you have welcomed us into your home, fed us milkshakes and Cafe Rio, had granny over to whip out a batch of fudge, listened to my concerns and complaints about my... children, remembered all those moments that it would be difficult to be without my dad....but the one that sticks out the most in my memory, mostly because of your tears of embarrassment, is when your family and Heidi came to our home in Springbank hill and the famous elkcall was shared. Love it!! and Love you!! Happy Birthday Beautiful. Hope it meets every expectation and wish.Lori

When I first moved here, Kari Dick had a girls night and Traci was there. She was so kind and made me feel comfortable in a situation I wasn't necessarily comfortable in. She sat down by me and asked me questions about myself. I will never forget how friendly she was. Then, she invited me to the next girls night at her house. It was so relaxed and comfortable there, it was an easy environment to make friends. She really has a way of making people feel loved, important, and needed.

Anne

Happy birthday cute girl! There are so many great things I could say about you. Where, oh where, to begin...You are one of the most uplifting people I know. I love that every time I see you, you have a smile on your face and make me smile. You are so talented in so many ways. And you are drop dead gorgeous. But mostly I want to thank you for fasting for my sweet meg. I will never forget it. You made me feel so loved that day you dropped the trek necklaces off for my mom and with a tear in your eye, told me that you had been praying and fasting for my new born baby girl. So, thanks. From the bottom of my heart. You are the sweetest. Hope to see you soon.

All my love,

Meeting Traci for the first time was like crazy love! My heart knew I had found a kindred spirit. She has a way of making those around her feel that all things are possible. She can take a joke and fun harassment as well as dish it out. Her amazing commitment to her passions could be a template for all to follow. I miss the days when I don't see her or hear from her and she makes me feel the same way. I'd bet she does that for many others as well which is why she is so wonderfully fantastic and eternally beautiful!

Amber McCreath

The first time I met Traci, I just loved her!! I could tell by her cute clothes and her fun personality that she was a wonderful person! When I went to her house for the first time I was blown away at how put together she was! She is amazing!! Her house is clean from top to bottom with everything in its place. It looks like it is in a magazine. Gorgeous!! Traci to me is super Mom. She is always on top of things, always positive, and you can see just by looking at her that she is a daughter of God. Her kids are so well put together and kind and you can see that she has been an amazing mother to them. She also amazes me with her testimony. I love to hear it. You can feel it just by standing by her that she loves her Heavenly Father and tries everyday to be more like him. And seriously! She is AMAZING at being the healthiest person I know! She asked me one time why I walked so much and I told her it was because I needed it for my sanity. I feel like she gets that now. I admire her strength for running and being healthy. Traci is a wonderful lady, a great person, a super Mom, a wonderful example, and I am so happy I can call her my friend! Happy, happy birthday Traci! We all love you to pieces!!!

Happy Birthday Traci! I have always loved you and your family. The only thing I was excited about moving here, at the age of 8, was meeting cousins. You have one of the greatest smiles and dispositions, it is easy being around you. Thanks for bringing that husband of yours back here with his talent. I am excited you live here again. Love you

Penny Richins - My Favorite Entry!

I got this one first . . . and Completely Panicked!!! I thought she had sent it to you or something I was dying. Then I saw what happened, I had to include it . . . it is the story of our life! I'm sorry you always have to be me!

Hi Traci,
Here is my story of Heidi:
When I moved to Lyman I was 11 years old and had a really hard time making friends. Everyone there had already been friends or known each other since they went to pre-school together and already had their social circles. I have family here, but most of the cousins that I knew didn't want to be socially associated with the weird new girl. By the time I made it into Young Women's I was pretty un-excited about the whole thing. I was going because I had to, and I would generally make excuses to get out of it and any other social activities.
Heidi was in my ward and older than me, but she took the time to be nice to me. I didn't expect anyone to jump out and be my best friend, so it was really nice that someone cared enough to just not be mean. She set a great example of how to be yourself and not worry so much about what other people thought of you. Because of her and some caring Young Womens' leaders (Heidi's mom, Colleen, and Edyth Matthews) I kept going. Eventually I found some friends, and I survived my middle school years :) As I progressed through Young Womens' and school, I remembered the way that Heidi made me feel and I tried to do that for other people. I still follow her example today in the way I encourage my guitar students.
Happy Birthday Heidi, thanks for your help, and I'll always think of you as The Fun Girl!

With Love,

Penny Richens

When I grow up, I want to be like Traci! Here’s 5 reasons why:

1. I can’t help it! Who wouldn’t want to be like you?
2. You are genuinely interested in others! When most people walk into a room, they say, “Here I am!” When you walk into a room, you say, “There you are!”
3. You’re fun! No explanation needed!
4. You’re gorgeous! And you keep yourself that way!
5. You never grow up!

Happy 40th Traci!!

Cara

I can't say enough nice things about Traci. She is contagious! Love that she can talk to anyone at anytime and make them feel comfortable. what a talent to have. I would love to have a gift like that, but that is what makes her, her, and the great person that she is. She is a wonderful mother to beautiful children that she gets to pass on her good traits to. She is so thoughtful and tenderhearted. She is always concerned for others and wants to help anyway she can. She is creative and pays attention to little details that make a big difference in all the things she does. I love Traci and glad that I am one of her friends. One thing that I treasure about our friendship is that we can always pick up where we left off.

A good story I think of when I think of Traci is one of her being thoughtful and kind to me. We spent a lot of time together while our moms served missions. we had sunday visits with kids putting skits on for the adults and we would sit around and solve all the worlds problems. I had a baby during that time and the sunday that we blessed him, my parents were still gone. After the meeting she walked up to me and handed me a paper with the blessing written down. She had no idea that my mom wrote down all my other children's and in her absence I was feeling sad she couldn't be there to do that for me. She was so inspired to do that and I was so grateful to her. She is such a great person and I am happy to be able to share life with her.

Happy Birthday to Traci. Many more good days ahead!

Love Ya Tons!!

Uncle Barry

It was the summer of 2005 and I was on a (another) health food kick. I had stopped by a Vita-Mix display at Costco and it rekindled my interest in the Vita-Mix that I had buried away in my seldom used kitchen appliances. I dug out what I believe was one of the first version of the blender to end all blenders. It was a stainless steel canister on top of what looked like a toaster on steroids. I was all set except I had no recipes! Here's where Traci comes into the story. In a subsequent phone conversation with my favorite niece (as long as Heidi and Misty aren't listening) I mentioned that I was looking for a couple of recipes for my Vita-Mix and low and behold, she just happened to have the latest and greatest Vita-Mix recipe book. I requested that she copy down a "couple" of her favorite concoctions and send them to me. Well in true "Traci" form a few days later here came in the mail a wire bound, hard copy, fully indexed Vita-Mix recipe book (photo attached).I asked her what time it was and she built me a clock! What a great gift. Not only for the value of the contents but I knew all the hard work that went into putting this book together for an uncle that she was lucky to see maybe once a year.

Well there you go. This is just one example of what a dynamo this little gal is and if you want something done and she finds out about it; you better get out of the way and be prepared to be amazed!HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRACI!!!!!!!

Dear Traci,Just wanted to hop on the "thisisntasurprisepartybandwagon" and wish you a Happy 40th Birthday, (I'm right behind you sister)! I've been trying to think of my favorite memory to share and can't think of any BIG ONE, just a bunch of little ones and those are my favorite!

It has been such a JOY following our girls around this big ole' state of Wyoming, sitting in the "cheering section" together at the swim meets. Your fun-loving spirit and cheery personality make a somewhat boring swim meet a fun event! The early morning pancake breakfasts, late evening spaghetti dinners, spray painting and bus decorating parties were great fun too! I admire you so much for all the effort you put into everything you do. Whether you're training for a race, planning a party or just something as simple as a Sunday lesson, you give it all you've got, 110%.

And can I just tell you how great it is to live next door to you? I really appreciate how kind and patient you are with my kiddo's as they shout, "Twaaaaaaaaaci" across the yard to tell you something very important like what we're having for lunch. You make them feel special and important and I love you for it! Thanks for being such a good friend and neighbor!

Love ya,

Ginger

Traci,

Yep, you guessed it! I waited til the last day to do this and as you know we are moving to vernal. No worries though, because I am going to share some thoughts I have about you and what makes you a dear friend of mine. If my memories of you are a little cloudy, that's because my head is always a little cloudy! Coed softball! Need I say more! I loved your catchers glove that you would use to play our mighty catcher! Then I believe we switched you to a normal fielders glove and you tore it up behind home plate! You would never admit it, but you were pretty good. Those were some good times playing softball together. Other memories of sports would have to be golfing with you, Heidi and Shirley! Oh my, what a riot! Changing my name to ( who was I again) then switching back to my original name those ladies were already drunk enough to not even notice what my name was! Of course I have a lot of memories of you but I want you to know you are part of my life. As I have said before, Lyman is my home and my friends are my family. I am grateful for you and I love you.

Love, Liz

My favorite memory of Traci…... Heidi and I growing up waiting until you were gone and then dressing up in all of your cute 80's sweaters, dickies and overalls. We though you were the bomb and totally idolized you. You really are such a great person and have grown to be such a great friend.. Happy 40th and may you have at least 40+ to come. Love you tons Bonnie

Dear Traci,

Although it has been so many years since we have lived by each other and shared our daily lives, you are still one of the best friends that I have ever had, and you are so dear to my heart! When we first met Scott and I had only been married a couple of weeks, and you and Jas seemed like the pros cuz you had been married for a year or two and even had a baby! I have so many memories of our times in Iowa and a few great ones since. I remember when you came to our awesome apartment in the ghetto for fettucine before we went to the rodeo, sledding and then getting chinese (Scott in his underwear) at your house, Reagin's army crawl, our hubbies making us calzones at your house for valentines day, yard sales, making eggrolls, playing mexican train, making nativity craft thingies, Whities (sp?), temple trips to Chicago, Vonda and her cookies, you taking care of me when I was pregnant and sick, our roadtrip to drop you off in Wyoming, playdates with Raeg, coming to visit you in Canada while we were both pregnant and sick with our boys, and the list goes on and on! You have been such an example to me through our years of friendship, of how to be a good wife and mother. You are always so willing to help others, and have always been there for me. I appreciate our friendship so much and I'm thankful that even though we don't see each other often enough, that when we do it is like we have never been apart. I hope you have a wonderful birthday and an amazing 40th year! You are truly an inspiration.

Love you to peices!!!

Since the day the Haycocks moved into our ward, Joanne and I recognized just how lucky we and our ward really was. They're the kind of family a ward prays for: solid but not stodgy, eager but not eccentric, willing but not wilting. Our ward got that when they moved into Lyman 3rd Ward. We people moving in and moving out, it was truly exciting that they were to build a beautiful home in the ward so they were more likely to stay.
We got to know the Haycock family better by working closely together in the Bishopric. We always knew we were going to have a good time when we got together.
In working with Traci in the ward, I've always been impressed with her willingness to serve. In calling her to difficult positions with great responsibilities, I've watched her as she has humbly accepted the call and then in true "Traci fashion" exploded the calling so that we wondered what we ever did without her in that calling before. As Young Women's President she has had an incalculable impact on the young women of our ward. She is the kind of person that every young woman looks up to and want's to emulate. I've been so impressed by her testimony that she shares, the example that she sets, & the amount of work she goes to, to make sure that every detail of any activity is fine tuned perfection. It's a rare quality to be able to make people feel happy and better about themselves just by being around you. That's what you've got, Traci. It's a gift. Thanks for sharing it with all of us. We love you. Happy Birthday.

Hurray you are 40!
I am sure you are gong to get a lot of sentimental things and some like...ha ha you are getting old jokes. I decided to do research and find something useful for you.
And of course I did....
It's a list of things that you have to change, now that you are 40, in order to better your life and live longer. Nice.
So lets see....
1. So apparently you now have to only use the heaviest Estee Lauder foundation available. Well that seems odd. And gross.
2. Ok so this says you can apply for discount cards to clothing retailers....NICE. Wait...Coldwater Creek and Talbots...fail.
3. Wait wait...."whenever discussing recent pop culture you must end the sentence with...or whatever you young kids are into/listen to/watch these days". Well that seems excessive.
4. One word...fiber
5. "Take time for yourself once a week to go get your hair set" Well this is all seeming a bit harsh.
6. There is a coupon for a free one of these....nice.
7. If you make jewelry for a living (well that's convenient) you need to start making it with a lot more big mother of pearl shells.
8. You need to start shamelessly plugging your cousins sweet blog (www.writinglikeiampopular.blogspot.com)...... I will admit I put that one in there.

You know what...I am beginning to think this list is not what I thought.

Traci, you look amazing for 40. I hope I am you at 40. You are a dear and I love you so so so much. I look forward to many MANY more years.

I love you and Happy Freaking Birthday.

When I think of traci I can't help but think of all the amazing times we had at the beach! I love how sweet and fun she is! She is such a cute little mom and a great example to me. Love her so much!

Linda Loveless

There are many reasons to love Traci, but the biggest for me is the openess of her heart to all around her! She has been so kind to me since I met her 8 years ago. Traci is the kind of person who makes you feel like you are special whenever you encounter her. That is a gift and I am grateful for the gift it is to know and count Traci among my friends! Happy Birthday cute girl and I'm pretty sure you're going to be just as cute in another 40 years as you do now! Keep shining! Love ya!

Jolene

Trac, what can I say!!! You are so Amazing and in so many ways. You are so on top of things, organized, creative, smart, thoughtful, kind, giving, fun to be around, good listener, example and more. I could go on and on. I think of all the times you have been there for me and how much it has meant to me. When I was getting ready to run my marathon and here you are at my front door with your cute little gifts to just let me know that you were thinking of me and wishing me good luck. Or just the card in the mail or dropped by with a fun treat, and of course it is put together or packaged so cute! And lets not forget about all those birthday and Christmas gifts...sooo nice. Ever since I have known you I have thought of how thoughtful you are of everyone and caring. You are so unselfish and always thinking of others and how you could help them out. That is amazing to me! I think thats why you are so happy, because you are not consumed thinking of yourself, but always thinking how you can be there for someone else or how you could help out someone. What an example to everyone. I need to be more like that.
What a privlidge it has been to serve with you in Young Womens. I can't tell you how excited I was after I found out that I was going to be serving with you. I have learned so much from you in the short time we have been in together. You are all around incredible. You handle everything so well. You always have the spirit with you and you can give an amazing lesson! I would love to be one of your Young Women and listen to your lessons each week. You are so good with words and how you present things. You have so many talents!
I am so glad that you are my friend and that I know you. You are a blessing in my life. I hope that you have a wonderful birthday, you deserve to. I sure love ya! Jolene

traci, traci.

given that traci is this power-packed punch of personality, you'd think i'd have a story of spontaneity or life-of-the-party-ness... but no. just a sweet little image in my head of the two of us, sitting far across the room from each other, locking eyes {this sounds like it's about to get saucy, eh?} IN THE TEMPLE, PEOPLE! waiting for jen and ed to arrive in the sealing room, crying our eyes out, melting all the eye make up off my face by 7:30 a.m. at the thought of what we were about to be a part of.

happy birthday, traci dear.

Dear Traci,What an honor to have had you as a dear friend all these years. It isn't chance that I moved to the town of Lyman the summer before I started sixth grade. Heavenly Father knew I needed you in my journey here on earth. You have been an example of charity for me to look to and draw from throughout my life. I have memories of your pure love from the very first day we met. I remember you approaching me and extending your kindness. Being the new girl, I wondered why me. As the years have gone by I have tried to immulate your example...being a friend to all regardless of circumstance, or behavior. You look for the good in others and truly go about the Fathers business in true discipleship. I love you for this and will forever! I remember laughing and enjoying eachother as our friendship grew stronger. Some of the funnies I remember were my bright blue shoes and playing foursquare, classes we shared, girls camps, and overnighters. So many memories that enriched my life with smiles and joy.I love you forever. I hope this birthday brings you many smiles and joy! Happy Birthday

One of my many memories of Traci was when she was headed for college her first year. I knew that she was fond of M & M’s, so when she sent her missionary out the kids and I put M & M’s in a gallon jar for her to eat ONE each day that he was gone. We told her that we added a few extra just in case she couldn’t have just one. I know she took the jar to college and it was in her room. I have never heard if she made it all of the way to the end of the mission with any M & M’s or if she got a new beau and just ate them all! How about it Traci telling any stories?
Another recent Story about Traci. I went through the Urie stop light and glanced out my window. Saw Traci driving a new outfit and she looked darling. I quickly called her and told her that she looked like a “Hot Momma”. She was thrilled and thought I was nice, we share some laughs and then she said she wasn’t in Urie. Oops joke was on me!
Traci has always been a special woman in our lives. She tended our kids and supported us from the time she was little. There is a bond that we feel with Traci. She’s fabulous! And is truly “One Hot Momma”.
